The Villa

Situated in a former church in the historic park of Monte Sole and in the small village of Allocco (tawny owl) , Chiesa Di Ignano 1778 https://en.chiesaignano.com/appartamenti offers refined apartments with rustic furnishings and kitchenette.

The rooms of the Church of ignano boast antique paintings and quality wooden furniture, and some overlook the garden or the surrounding mountains. They are all equipped with floor cooling.

A sweet breakfast with home-made products and cakes is served each morning, while savoury foods are available on request.

( The name of the village comes from the numerous presence of nocturnal birds present in the park).

The Setting

The garden of the thousand roses develops on the basis of an ancient collection of roses begun in the 70s by Tano Medici, the owner's grandfather, who followed the development of the plants of the botanical garden of the University of Bologna.  So the new project of a garden characterized by a wide variety of roses and medicinal plants was born.Walking through the botanical park you are surrounded by the scents of aromatic herbs, roses and lavender plants.

From the ancient bell tower start several routes to reach the top of the mountain arriving at the visitor center of the historic park of Monte Sole.

The river Setta, which flows near the Church, is swimming and with beautiful coves, beaches and waterfalls.

Our guests can relax in the pool, in outdoor SPA ( jacuzzi and sauna), enjoying the view of the mountains in the shade of the park plants.

THE PERSONAL SERVICE

Paolo and Kat will have daily coach service from the villa, which is about 20 min outide of Bologna, (and 30 minutes north of Florence) for excursions, dropoffs and pick ups for induvidual experiences, and of course getting to restaurants for dinner. We will also have 2-3 intimite dinner parties "at home" hosted by the owners of the villa.

Cost: $1600 per person based on double occupancy for 7 nights

Includes villa stay, daily breakfast, daily transportation (including to and from airport),  conceirge services: dinner reservations and a la carte experiences.
